INTRODUCTION ABOUT TEXAKIND TABLET
TEXAKIND TABLET contains Tranexamic Acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Antifibrinolytics. It is used in the management of bleeding in conditions such as heavy menstrual bleeding in women, bleeding inside the digestive system (Ex. inflammatory bowel disease), bleeding from the nose, blood in urine (not caused by the kidney (renal parenchyma)), control bleeding after dental extraction in patients with coagulopathies and after cervix surgery.
TEXAKIND TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with blood clotting disorder or consumption coagulopathy, kidney disease, fits or seizure disorder, irregular menstrual cycle, acquired disturbances of color vision, venous or arterial thrombosis, active thromboembolic diseases such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and cerebral thrombosis, subarachnoid hemorrhage and blood in urine during periods.
Before taking TEXAKIND TABLET, inform your doctor if you had or have changes in normal bleeding pattern, family history of endometrial cancer, abnormal bleeding between periods, bleeding during or after sexual intercourse, premenstrual pain, lower abdominal pain, bleeding after menopause, are at risk of having a blood clot, diabetic, overweight, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
TEXAKIND TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant and breast-feeding women only if clearly advised by the doctor. Consult your doctor before taking TEXAKIND TABLET. Your doctor may recommend you to take relevant tests to understand your existing condition.
Safety and effectiveness of TEXAKIND TABLET in children and adolescents below 18 years of age has not been established yet and it is not recommended for use in elderly women after menopause (stoppage of periods).
The most common side effects of taking TEXAKIND TABLET are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, tiredness and stomach pain. Consult your doctor immediately if any of the side effect worsens.
USES OF TEXAKIND TABLET
It is used to manage bleeding in conditions such as,
- heavy menstrual bleeding in women
- bleeding from the nose
- bleeding inside the digestive system (gastrointestinal system, Ex. inflammatory bowel disease))
- blood in urine (not caused by the kidney (renal parenchyma))
- bleeding after undergoing surgery (such as dental extraction in patients with coagulopathies, cervix surgery)
HOW TEXAKIND TABLET WORKS
TEXAKIND TABLET manages bleeding by blocking the plasminogen from binding with fibrin which results in bleeding. As a result, it manages and controls bleeding associated with various conditions.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Always take TEXAKIND TABLET as directed by your physician. Swallow the medicine as a whole and do not crush or chew the medicine. Do not take this medicine before your period has started as it will not work properly. Your doctor will decide the correct dose, duration and frequency of TEXAKIND TABLET for you depending upon age, weight and disease conditions.
SIDE EFFECTS OF TEXAKIND TABLET
COMMON
- nausea, vomiting
- diarrhea, stomach pain
- headache
- sinus and nasal symptoms
- back, muscle or joint pain
- muscle cramps
- migraine
- anemia
- tiredness
UNCOMMON
- allergic skin reactions
RARE
- thromboembolic events (blood clot in vein)
- vision disturbances
- giddiness
Stop taking TEXAKIND TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- impaired vision (especially color), blood clot in the eye
- itchy, red or swollen skin
- serious blood clots
- pain or feelings of heaviness in the chest
- pain or swelling in the arms or legs
- sudden shortness of breath, fainting
- coughing up blood
HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Diarrhea
Drink lot of fluids, such as water to keep yourself hydrated. Avoid eating high-fat or spicy foods. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to manage diarrhea and consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.
Headache
Drink ample amount of water and avoid skipping meals. Get adequate rest. Try to be relaxed and stress free. Apply pain relieving balm on your forehead if necessary. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Nausea And Vomiting
Stick to simple meals while taking this medicine. Avoid eating oily rich, fried or spicy foods. Do not lie down or sleep immediately after eating. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Stomach Pain
Try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller meals more frequently. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. If the symptom does not improve, consult your doctor.
WARNING & PRECAUTIONS
PREGNANCY
Monitoring requiredTEXAKIND TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women only if considered clearly necessary. Inform your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant before using TEXAKIND TABLET.
BREASTFEEDING
Monitoring requiredTEXAKIND TABLET should be used with caution in breastfeeding women only if advised by the doctor as it may pass through the breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking TEXAKIND TABLET.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Use with CautionDo not drive or operate any machines if you experience dizziness after taking TEXAKIND TABLET.
KIDNEY
Consult your doctorTEXAKIND TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney impairment. TEXAKIND TABLET should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate kidney impairment and your doctor may adjust the dose depending upon kidney function. Consult your doctor for advice before taking TEXAKIND TABLET.
LIVER
Consult your doctorNo dose adjustment is required in patients with hepatic impairment. Consult your doctor for advice.
ALLERGY
ContraindicatedDo not take TEXAKIND TABLET if you are allergic to Tranexamic Acid or any other ingredients of this medicine.
LUNGS
ContraindicatedTEXAKIND TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with pulmonary embolism (arteries of the lungs are blocked by clot). Consult your doctor before taking TEXAKIND TABLET.
USE IN PEDIATRICS
Consult your doctorSafety and effectiveness of TEXAKIND TABLET in children and adolescents below 18 years of age has not been established yet. Consult your child’s doctor for advice.
USE IN GERIATRICS

OTHERS
TEXAKIND TABLET is not recommended for use if you:
- have a blood clotting disorder (consumption coagulopathy)
- have history of fits or seizure disorder
- have an irregular menstrual cycle
- have acquired disturbances of color vision
- have history of venous or arterial thrombosis (blood clot in artery/veins)
- have deep vein thrombosis, cerebral thrombosis (blood clot of cerebral vein in brain)
- have subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding in space between brain and tissue covering the brain)
- have blood in urine between periods
Before taking TEXAKIND TABLET, inform your physician if you:
- have changes in normal bleeding pattern
- have family history of endometrial cancer
- have abnormal bleeding between the periods
- have bleeding during or after sexual intercourse
- have premenstrual pain or lower abdominal pain
- have bleeding after menopause
- have obstruction of the urinary tract
- are at a risk for the formation of a blood clot
- are diabetic
- are overweight
- have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
INTERACTIONS
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before taking TEXAKIND TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:
- Ethinyl estradiol, levonorgestrel (oral contraceptives used to manage pregnancy)
- estrogen (used to manage hormone disorder)
- streptokinase, reteplase, tenecteplase (used to a breakdown blood clots)
- tamoxifen (used to manage breast cancer)
- trans-retinoic acid (used to manage acne)
- factor IX complex concentrates (used to stop bleeding)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of TEXAKIND TABLET, contact your doctor immediately or visit a nearby hospital immediately. Overdosage symptoms of TEXAKIND TABLET are headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abnormal blood pressure, impaired vision, abnormal mental status, skin rashes, dizziness and fits or seizures.
