INTRODUCTION ABOUT SHELCAL 500MG TABLET

Shelcal Tablet is a bone health supplement which helps to correct calcium and Vitamin D3 deficiency and its associated health conditions such as osteoporosis (bones become brittle and fragile), osteomalacia (softening of bones), and rickets (abnormal calcification, softening, and distortion of the bones typically resulting in bowlegs). It contains Calcium carbonate and Vitamin D3 as active ingredients which belongs to the group of medicines known as Calcium supplements and Vitamin D analogs.

Shelcal Tablet is also considered as a source of calcium supplement for women, especially during the stages of menopause, to manage their nutritional needs. It is highly suggestive as part of osteoporosis management and during pregnancy, where it helps to maintain proper bone growth in the growing fetus and satisfies the extra nutritional needs during pregnancy. Patients undergoing management with Shelcal Tablet will be asked to monitor their plasma levels of calcium frequently to avoid hypercalcemia (increased calcium levels).

Shelcal Tablet is not recommended for use in patients with hypervitaminosis D, kidney stones, or diseases that increase calcium levels in the blood and urine (Ex. hyperparathyroidism). It can be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding when instructed by your physician.
