About this item

INTRODUCTION

PYZINA 750MG contains Pyrazinamide which belongs to the group of medicines called Antitubercular agents. It is used to manage active cases of tuberculosis infection. Tuberculosis is a serious bacterial infection caused by a bacterium called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It primarily affects the lungs, but may also invade the brain, spinal cord, heart, kidney and other organs. It is characterized by persistent cough with mucus, blood-stained phlegm, shortness of breath, weight loss, fever, extreme tiredness, stomach pain, headache and fits.

PYZINA 750MG should be used only under careful medical supervision. It is suitable for use in both adults and in children. It can also be used to manage tuberculosis infection that has invaded the brain (meningeal tuberculosis) or heart (pericardial tuberculosis).

Take PYZINA 750MG for the stipulated duration instructed by your doctor even if you feel better midway during the therapy to achieve better results. Failing to complete the full course of the therapy or skipping doses in between the therapy may not result in adequate infection control.

Before taking PYZINA 750MG inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have or had diabetes, joint pain (gout) or any blood disorders.

PYZINA 750MG should be used in pregnant women only if it is considered necessary by the physician. It is generally not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. However, consult your doctor for advice. During management with PYZINA 750MG, your doctor will closely monitor your liver functions and blood uric acid levels to avoid the risk of unwanted side effects.

The most common side effects of taking PYZINA 750MG are nausea, vomiting, joint pain, skin rash, tiredness and painful urination. Consult your doctor if they trouble you. You must also inform your doctor immediately if you experience severe or persistent nausea and vomiting along with extreme tiredness and yellowish skin discolouration.

HOW PYZINA 750MG WORKS

This kills the susceptible bacteria and prevents the further growth and multiplication of the bacteria which in turn reduces the severity of the infection.
