- PYRIDIUM 200MG contains Phenazopyridine which belongs to a group of medicine called urinary tract analgesics
What PYRIDIUM 200MG is used for?
It is indicated for short-term use and can only relieve symptoms like:
- pain, burning, urgency, frequency, and other discomforts resulting from lower urinary tract caused by infection, trauma, surgery, endoscopic procedures, or the passage of sounds or catheters

- are allergic or hypersensitive to Phenazopyridine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
- have renal insufficiency
- have severe liver disease
Pregnancy & Breast Feeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
Children & Adolescents
It should not be used in patients under 18 years of age
Interactions
Tell your doctor if you are taking,
- ciprofloxacin (used to manage infections)
Directions & For Use
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
- It should be taken after meals
If you take more PYRIDIUM 200MG
- If you take more than the prescribed dose, contact your doctor immediately
If you forget to take PYRIDIUM 200MG
- If a dose is missed, you should take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up
If you stop taking PYRIDIUM 200MG
- Do not stop taking this medicine unless told to do so by your doctor
Side Effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
- headaches, stiff neck
- shortness of breath, wheezing, any trouble breathing or chest tightness
- skin rash, hives, swelling of the neck, throat or tongue or itching
- blurred vision or any visual disturbance
- nausea, vomiting and diarrhea
- yellow discoloration of the skin or whites of the eyes with or without itchy skin
- turn your skin or the whites of your eyes to a yellowish tone
- chills, fever, muscle aches or pains, or other flu like symptoms, swelling of the neck and throat and tongue
