INTRODUCTION ABOUT PAN D CAPSULE

PAN-D Capsule is a combination medicine used to manage acid reflux, heartburn, burping, bloating indigestion, burning sensation in throat and food pipe and other signs of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It can also be used to heal inflammation of stomach lining (gastritis).

It contains a combination of Pantoprazole and Domperidone, which work together to reduce acid production and improve digestion.

Pan D Capsule is used to manage digestive health i.e peptic ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and reflux esophagitis. It is a combination of Domperidone and Pantoprazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Prokinetic Drugs and Proton pump inhibitors respectively. PAN D CAPSULE acts by reducing the production of gastric acid. It also speeds up the movement of food from the stomach to the intestines, thereby reducing the signs of nausea, vomiting and acid reflux. Due to these actions, it can also reduce the unpleasant signs of GI tract such as nausea, vomiting, indigestion, burping, bloating, acidity or heartburn.

It should be taken at least 15-30 minutes before meals. During management with PAN D CAPSULE your doctor will closely monitor your kidney functions, liver functions and blood magnesium levels to avoid the risk of unwanted side effects. Before taking PAN D CAPSULE inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have any blockage or tears in the gut or have weak bones.

PAN D CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients bleeding from the gut. Consult your doctor before taking PAN D CAPSULE if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The most common side effects are dryness of mouth, constipation and flatulence. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect bothers you. You must also inform your doctor immediately if you experience any signs of low magnesium levels in blood (such as tiredness, abnormal muscle movements, dizziness, confusion, disorientation, irregular heartbeat).

    • PAN-D reduces excess acid production in the stomach, providing effective relief from acid reflux, heartburn, and symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
  2. Management of Gastric Ulcers:
    • The pantoprazole component in PAN-D helps heal gastric and duodenal ulcers by reducing stomach acid, preventing further irritation, and promoting healing.

  4. Improves Digestion and Reduces Bloating:

  5. Prevention of Acid-Related Damage:
    • Long-term use of PAN-D can reduce complications like esophagitis (inflammation of the esophagus) and protect the stomach lining from damage due to chronic acid production or use of NSAIDs.

Benefits of PAN-D in Pregnancy:

PAN-D Capsule can be helpful during pregnancy to relieve common issues like acid reflux, heartburn, nausea, and bloating, which occur due to hormonal changes and pressure on the stomach.

The combination of pantoprazole and domperidone works by reducing excess stomach acid and improving digestion, ensuring better comfort and nutrient absorption.

However, since the safety of domperidone during pregnancy is not fully established, PAN-D should only be used if prescribed by a doctor, who will weigh the benefits against potential risks. Always consult your doctor before using this medication during pregnancy.

HOW PAN D CAPSULE WORKS

PAN-D Capsule works by combining two key ingredients, pantoprazole and domperidone, to relieve digestive issues like acidity, heartburn, and nausea.

  • Pantoprazole reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach, helping to heal irritation and prevent discomfort caused by excess acid.
  • Domperidone improves the movement of food through the stomach, which reduces bloating, nausea, and the feeling of fullness.

Together, these actions make PAN-D effective in treating conditions like acid reflux, indigestion, and stomach discomfort, providing quick and long-lasting relief. Always take it as directed by your doctor for the best results.

Take PAN-D Capsule as advised by your doctor. Strictly follow the dosing instructions recommended by your doctor for achieving best results.

  • Take the capsule 15-30 minutes before meals for optimal effectiveness.
  • Follow your doctor’s instructions on the exact dosage and duration.

Dosage Instructions for PAN-D Capsule

  • The usual dosage is once or twice a day, depending on the severity of your condition.

Why PAN-D is Taken Before Food?

  • Taking PAN-D before food allows pantoprazole to block acid production before meals stimulate acid secretion.
  • This timing ensures maximum absorption and effectiveness in preventing heartburn and acid reflux.
  • It also helps domperidone improve digestion efficiently.

What Happens if I Take PAN-D After Food?

  • The effectiveness may reduce because pantoprazole is best absorbed on an empty stomach.
  • Taking it after food may delay relief from acid reflux or heartburn.
  • For best results, always follow your doctor’s timing instructions.

How Long Should PAN-D Be Taken For?

  • Treatment duration depends on the condition being treated and is usually for 2-4 weeks or as advised by your doctor.
  • Long-term use should be monitored regularly to avoid potential side effects like nutrient deficiencies.
  • Never stop the medication abruptly without consulting your doctor.

What If I Missed a Dose of PAN-D?

  • Take the missed dose as soon as you remember, unless it’s close to your next scheduled dose.
  • Do not take two doses together to make up for the missed one.
  • Stick to your regular schedule to ensure consistent relief.

Overdosage Instructions

  • If you accidentally take more PAN-D than prescribed, seek immediate medical attention.
  • Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness, severe nausea, or abdominal pain.
  • Avoid taking extra doses to compensate for missed ones, as this increases the risk of side effects.

Drug - Drug interaction

How Does PAN-D Interact with Other Medications?

  1. Antifungal Medications (e.g., Ketoconazole, Itraconazole):
    • These drugs require an acidic stomach environment for proper absorption, and PAN-D reduces stomach acid, making them less effective.
  2. Blood Thinners (e.g., Warfarin):
    • PAN-D may alter the effectiveness of blood thinners, increasing the risk of bleeding. Regular monitoring is essential.
  3. HIV Medications (e.g., Atazanavir, Nelfinavir):
    • PAN-D can reduce the absorption and effectiveness of these antiretroviral drugs.
  4. Antibiotics (e.g., Clarithromycin):
    • When combined, there may be an increased risk of side effects like diarrhea or abdominal discomfort.
  5. Antacids or Sucralfate:
    • Taking these with PAN-D may reduce its absorption. It's advised to space out doses by at least 1-2 hours.

Drug - Food interaction

Top Drug-Food Interactions for PAN-D Capsule:

  1. Alcohol:
    • Alcohol can irritate the stomach lining and worsen acid reflux, counteracting the effects of PAN-D.
  2. Caffeine-Rich Beverages (e.g., Coffee, Tea, Soda):
    • Caffeine stimulates acid production, which may reduce the effectiveness of PAN-D.
  3. Spicy or Acidic Foods (e.g., Citrus Fruits, Tomatoes):
    • These foods can aggravate acid reflux and counteract the relief provided by PAN-D.
  4. High-Fat Meals:

Fatty foods delay stomach emptying, increasing the risk of acid reflux and reducing PAN-D's efficiency.
