About this item
INTRODUCTION ABOUT ONDEM SYRUP
ONDEM SYRUP is used to manage nausea and vomiting in children caused by cancer chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery. It contains Ondansetron, which belongs to a group of medicines called Anti-emetics.
Before giving ONDEM SYRUP to your child, inform your doctor if your child has or has had severe constipation, heart problems, liver and kidney problems, an imbalance with the levels of salts in your blood (potassium, sodium, and magnesium), or has been scheduled for any surgery. During the therapy, your doctor would regularly monitor your child’s health to avoid the risk of side effects.
Your doctor will prescribe the right dose and duration depending on the child’s age, body weight, and health condition, so stick to the dose, time, and duration prescribed by the doctor. Minor and temporary side effects may be experienced after the intake of this medicine. These include headaches, flushing, and constipation.
Generally, these effects subside once the child’s body adapts to the medicine. However, in cases of prolonged or bothersome events, consult your doctor immediately, without any delay. Inform your doctor about your child’s complete medical history, including any previous episodes of allergies.
