Talk to your doctor if you:

• are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
• have jaundice (skin and the whites of eyes are yellow)
• have diarrhoea
• are severely dehydrated or have an electrolyte imbalance
• have or had liver problems
• have or had ulcerative colitis
• history of dependence or addiction (alcohol, medicines or drugs)
• have bacterially-induced diarrhea

Pregnancy & Breast Feeding

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine

Children & Adolescents

• This medicine is not recommended for children below the age of 4 years

Driving & Using Machines

• Do not drive or operate any machines while taking this medicine it may cause drowsiness or dizziness

Interactions

Tell your doctor, if you are taking,

• phenobarbital
• lorazepam, alprazolam (helps to sleep or reduce anxiety)
• tranquilizers (helps to calm you down)
• methocarbamol, cyclobenzaprine (used to manage muscle spasms and back pain)
• general anesthetics (used during surgery)
• olanzapine, clozapine, haloperidol (used to manage schizophrenia or other psychiatric illness)
• oxycodone, codeine, morphine, hydromorphone, meperidine, tramadol (used to manage pain)
• phenelzine sulphate, tranylcypromine sulphate, moclobemide or selegiline (used to manage depression or Parkinson’s disease)

Directions & For Use

• Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
• Swallow the medicine whole with a glass of water

If you take more LOMOTIL

• If you take more of this medicine, contact your doctor or go to a nearest hospital immediately

If you forget to take LOMOTIL

• If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is nearly time for your next dose
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose

If you stop taking LOMOTIL

• Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so
