About this item

INTRODUCTION ABOUT BUDECORT 200 INHALER

BUDECORT 200 INHALER contains Budesonide, which belongs to the group of medicines called Corticosteroids. It is used to manage the symptoms of asthma. Asthma is a respiratory disease in which the airways become inflamed, swollen, and narrowed. It also causes excessive mucous secretion in the airways, which makes it difficult for the air to pass through, leading to unpleasant symptoms like wheezing, difficulty breathing, chest pain, or coughing.

Budesonide is a steroid medication. It works on the airways and inhibits the cells present in the airways from releasing certain chemicals that cause inflammation and swelling of the airways. BUDECORT 200 INHALER can only stop you from having an asthmatic attack. It will not stop an asthma attack that has been started already. Therefore, always carry a fast-acting'rescue’ inhaler containing a beta-2 agonist (Ex. salbutamol) with you to subside the symptoms. Your doctor may monitor your disease condition periodically and adjust the dose accordingly. It is important to tell your doctor if you are already taking any oral corticosteroids to manage your asthma. If so, your doctor would gradually reduce the number of doses taken before switching to BUDECORT 200 INHALER.

Before using BUDECORT 200 INHALER, inform your doctor if you have any unmanaged infections, lung, or liver problems. Do not stop using BUDECORT 200 INHALER once your symptoms subside without consulting your doctor. Make sure to rinse your mouth with water after inhaling the medicine to avoid the risk of fungal infections in the oral cavity. BUDECORT 200 INHALER should be used in pregnant and breastfeeding women only if it is considered necessary by the physician. It is generally not recommended for use in children aged under 6 years. The most common side effects of using BUDECORT 200 INHALER are oral thrush (fungal infection in the mouth), throat irritation, swallowing difficulties, and cough. Consult your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.

USES OF BUDECORT 200 INHALER

  • Manages the symptoms of asthma

HOW BUDECORT 200 INHALER WORKS

BUDECORT 200 INHALER controls the symptoms of asthma, where budesonide works on the airways and inhibits the cells present in the airways from releasing certain chemicals that cause inflammation and swelling of the airways. As a result, it reduces airway inflammation, inhibits airways from becoming narrow, and improves breathing.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Use BUDECORT 200 INHALER every day until your doctor tells you to stop. It is meant for inhalation use only. Inhale the medicine only through your mouth into the lungs and not via the nose.

If you are using an inhaler: Place the mouthpiece between your teeth and close your mouth tightly. Take a deep breath through your mouth while simultaneously pressing the top of the canister firmly to release a puff of medicine. Your doctor will decide the number of puffs to be taken depending upon your medical condition. Wait at least for about 30 seconds between each inhalation.

If you are using other respiratory devices (such as rotacaps, respicaps, or transcaps): Insert the capsule into the capsule chamber or into the hole present in the device. Release the medicine from the capsule by adjusting the device (either rotate the base of the device or press the button meant for piercing the capsule) according to the information given in the enclosed leaflet. Place the mouthpiece between your teeth and close your mouth tightly. Breath in through your mouth deeply and rapidly. Your doctor will decide the number of capsules to be taken depending upon your medical condition.

With both the inhaler and other devices, after each inhalation, remove the device from your mouth and hold your breath for about 10 seconds or for as long as is comfortable. Gently breathe out. If the emptied medicine is not completely inhaled, once again breathe in through your mouthpiece.

After inhalation, wipe the mouthpiece with a dry tissue and close the device after use. Once inhalation is over, rinse your mouth with water and spit it out or brush your teeth. Do not start using this medicine unless your doctor or health care provider has taught you how to use it or you understand how to use it correctly.
