INTRODUCTION ABOUT VENTIDOX M TABLET
VENTIDOX M TABLET is a combination of Doxofylline and Montelukast which belongs to the group of medicines called Bronchodilators and Leukotriene Receptor Antagonists respectively. It is used to manage asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
It can also be used to reduce airway inflammation (such as bronchitis), apnea (lack of breathing), seasonal allergic rhinitis (nasal congestion, repeated sneezing, nasal itching or a red, watery and itchy eyes) and other respiratory diseases associated with bronchospasm (tightening of airways).
Before taking VENTIDOX M TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have hypertension, hyperthyroidism, stomach ulcers or any concomitant infections as a precaution.
VENTIDOX M TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe hypotension or heart problems (such as myocardial infarction). It is also not suitable for use in breastfeeding women.
Inform your doctor before taking VENTIDOX M TABLET if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. The most common side effects of taking VENTIDOX M TABLET are nausea, vomiting, upper stomach pain, headache, irritability, upper respiratory tract infections, lack of sleep, skin rash and fast heartbeat or breathing. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.
USES OF VENTIDOX M TABLET
It is used to manage and prevent:
- Asthma & COPD
- Bronchitis (inflammation of the airways)
- Apnea (breathing stops for a brief period)
- Seasonal allergic rhinitis (nasal congestion, repeated sneezing, nasal itching or a red, watery and itchy eyes)
- Exercise induced bronchospasm (narrowing of airways)
HOW VENTIDOX M TABLET WORKS
VENTIDOX M TABLET is a bronchodilator with anti-inflammatory properties. It blocks the release of certain chemicals (such as phosphodiesterase, leukotrienes) in the respiratory tract that triggers airway inflammation, swelling and narrowing. As a result, it widens the airways and reduces airway inflammation. This allows the air to pass through more freely through the airways which makes breathing easier.

Your doctor will decide the correct dose, duration of therapy and number of doses per day depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
